Oscar-nominated Documentary Screening - "The White Helmets"


A standing room only audience of 48 viewed "The White Helmets" documentary at South Congregational Church in Concord on March 5. Senator Jeanne Shaheen sent a letter affirming the event's importance and thanking the group for organizing it.

Becky Sakellariou, long-time Greek resident who now lives in Peterborough, facilitated discussion following the emotional film. She works with NGOs helping in refugee camps in Athens.

Sandi Cotter from Ascentria Care Alliance in Concord reported on the needs of both immigrants and refugees in NH. Blankets and bedsheets are particularly needed now and can be dropped off at 261 Sheep Davis Rd., Concord. 603-224-8111

At-will donations were divided between Ascentria Care Alliance and the International Institute of New England, NH's two resettlement agencies.
