Brookside Congregational Church, UCC in Manchester, NH is looking for a Church Office Administrator to work fulltime at 40 hours per week managing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Church in strategic partnership with the Senior Pastor, lay leadership, and staff. This is a broad spectrum office management role with bookkeeping, reception, facilities coordination. In addition, this job is responsible for producing digital and print publications (i.e. – Worship Service Bulletin, e-Newsletter and updates to website). Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and be highly organized . Minimum of 2 years bookkeeping experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, Excel), as well as Social Media (primarily Facebook and Instagram). We are a progressive, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating congregation, is seeking a Music Director for its music program. Responsibilities include directing, rehearsing, and accompanying the adult choir, working with the Pastor and the Music Committee in planning weekly music and performing appropriate musical selections and hymns during the weekly Sunday service. Candidates should have sufficient musical training, including piano and organ proficiencies, experience in leading church music, and the ability to work with others with a team spirit and good interpersonal skills.
The position is 12-15 hours per week. The monthly salary is $1,400 - $1,700 based on experience and qualifications.
In this position, you will be required to:
- Learn the Stratham UCC Church Service Liturgy (if not acquainted)
- Work with Pastor and Music Committee as required, including selection of all hymns in concert with the Pastor and the Music Committee.
- Provide Office Administrator with selections of Prelude, Anthem, Offertory, and Postlude no later than one week prior to Sunday service for inclusion in the bulletin
- Provide piano and/or organ accompaniment for choir, hymns, Prelude, Offertory, and Postlude as well as gathering music prior to service.
- Participate in weekly Sunday worship services (1 hr.) as well as conduct a 30 -45 min. Choir rehearsal prior to the service.
- Participate during special services: Blue Christmas, Christmas Eve, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Easter
- Conduct an adult Choir Rehearsal (currently held on Thursday evenings for 1 hr. and 30 min. from 7:00-8:30) mid- September through mid-June.

Organist and Choir Director

We are seeking the next wonderful musician to lead our choir and play our organ. We are hoping to find someone who is familiar with traditional church music, and who is also comfortable helping us explore other musical styles and jazzing it up when the time is right. The choir rehearses at 9:00 on Sunday morning and again after church from 11:15 to 12:15. The choir director and pastor will consult regularly on worship planning so that anthems and other choral music support the theme of the worship service.
