On Monday morning, the delegation reconvened at Jekesa Pfungwa in Harare. Lorane and Rev. Mhlanga arrived first, followed by me (Steph). On the way into Harare from Norton, where I spent the weekend, I observed quite the range of gas prices ranging from $5.29 - $6.01 per gallon! No wonder there were so many vans packed with people, hitchhikers on the roads, and buses transporting people from city to city!
No room in the kombi? No problem — just hold on tight!

The rest of the delegation trickled in between 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM. Once we were all together again, we all packed into the kombi and headed for the market uptown.

There were a lot of stalls and vendors at the market and they were so ready for tourists! Some of the vendors were so pushy and actually followed us around reminding us we said we would come back to their booth! I think we all found some things we could bring back to our homes and churches to remind us of our time in Zimbabwe.
Around 5:00 PM that evening, several of the heads of UCCZ arrived at Jekesa Pfungwa for our closing dinner reception and communion. The delegates were all asked to speak about something they observed or learned that had particular meaning to them.

We will include Steph’s once we get a hold of the recording as she was the one who recorded the rest of the delegation videos.
After these words, Rev. Thomas of the Mbare
Church led us all in the sacrament of communion in preparation for our trip home to the USA the next day.
