The delegation which visited Zimbabwe this past summer saw grocery stores full of food and people able to buy it. What they didn't see were households struggling to feed their families. As it is in the United States, food insecurity in Zimbabwe is increasingly invisible, but no less real.
The UCCZ, our partner in Zimbabwe, has announced a "Drought Alleviation Program" which seeks, first of all, to get food to families most in need. there is more to their program (with the complete drought alleviation appeal on the Ukama Partnership Page) but the Ukama Mission Group of the NH Conference has agreed to appeal for support from churches and individuals here to fund the immediate need.
Click Here for the flyer which congregations can circulate. We hope that churches will promote this opportunity to support our partners through Ukama Sunday, October 20.
Want to connect with the 2024 Delegation? They'll be at Pilgrim Congregational UCC of Brentwood/Kingston on Sunday, October 6, 5-7 PM holding the first of three regional gatherings. Bring a potluck dish to share.
